Thumbtack.com was a website similar to an Angies List at the time.

I paid the site, to answer leads that were posted by potential customers.
Those customers could choose their handyman, via the website's response
feature based on the handyman's profile, rating, and pricing.

Thumbtack.com was approximately 25% of my overall work load.
The rest of my work came from word-of-mouth and referrals.
Just as it does today.

The work Johnny performed for us was quite demanding. He was replacing slate tiles on a 2nd story deck located over our sitting room. We had experienced a leak that occurred only after multiple days of rain which we all know is rare in San Diego. He not only supplied an estimate but many possible solutions differing in time and material costs and finally a detailed and understandable solution, including a graphic drawing, that we agreed to. The work was performed in a timely and efficient manner all the time cordially dealing with my oversight, actually company, and the schedule of a lady living in our house at this time.

During my career I built over 150,000 sq ft of commercial buildings, large and small, and must say that Johnny certainly performed equal to or better than the contractors I have come in to contact with.

I would use Johnny again without hesitation and would recommend that you seriously consider him for your projects.

Johnny did a full shower remodel in our home.

He was very honest upfront and professional. His work was extremely thorough and meticulous.

Johnny Jensen seemed to whip through the jobs on my to-do list quicker than it took me to write it.

We had bought a condo that needed some repairs before we could move in. Most were minor--install grab bar in shower, replace light switches, etc.--but John also had to remove a kitchen closet the previous owner had installed in the dining area. It was built like a tank, but out it came in a couple of hours and you couldn't tell it had ever been there.

All John's work is not only fast but precise and meticulous--very professional. He can fall behind schedule, though, because people tend to add to their lists (I did!), so he may sometimes run a bit late.

But he always calls in advance to give his actual arrival time, so if you can be a bit flexible it works out fine.

I recommend Johnny and his work enthusiastically.

Johnny totally came through for us on a major time crunch as we really needed to have our shower tiles looked at and fixed before we could sell our house. With a week to spare, Johnny came in and knocked the job out like a pro, fixed everything and re-tiled everything and it looked beautiful when he was done!

He even came through for us when another handyman flaked on us, and was able to knock out a few other miscellaneous jobs we had around the house super quick, and everything looked amazing when he was done.

I have recommended him to our friends and even our realtors to pass along for any job they need done, as he was so professional and super nice!!

Our project was the removal of a 65-year old original entry door, door jamb, stucco molding, and interior trim, and then the installation of a new door, jamb, molding, lockset, and interior trim.

Johnny completed the removal and install in 4 hours. 4 hours is the same amount of time projected by Home Depot's home-services contractors, but at a significantly higher price than Johnny's bill.

I presented Johnny with a fairly daunting list of things: installing appliances, hanging doors, installing a new faucet, programming my sprinkler system, and numerous carpentry-type items.

He was able to successfully do everything I asked him to do, and do it very well.

Most importantly, he was reliable, very pleasant, and incredibly easy to work with. I felt safe having him in my home and would not hesitate to have him come back

Johnny helped me install a new electrical outlet behind my wall-mounted TV.

Job was a bit more complicated because the TV was above a fireplace and required a bit of transversing across studs. He finished in roughly 4 hours.

After routing my additional A/V cables, installing the new electrical, fixing up the drywall and retexturing, he cleaned everything up.

All I have left to do is to for me to repaint! He was professional and through, providing his opinion when needed but always leaving it up to me.

It was a good experience.

Johnny, arrived on time, professionally dressed and with a very professional, business like attitude!!

He hung two wall TVs, hooked up our router/modem. And removed and older mounted TV.

Johnny was very meticulous in installing the closet organizer. He was innovative in claiming the wasted 9 inches of space by carefully cutting and installing matching metal closet (hanger) rods.
